<\/h2>\n<\/h2>\nThis week at AISTER, we mark the close of a defining chapter in our recent naval history with the handover of the interceptor patrol craft \u2018R\u00edo Manzanares\u2019 to the Guardia Civil. This represents the eighth and final unit commissioned under the HS60 series<\/a> \u2014 a deeply significant milestone for our entire team, both personally and technically, which completes the cycle of a project that has marked a turning point in the high-speed craft sector.<\/p>\n When we set out to develop the HS60, the challenge was as clear as it was demanding: the Maritime Service of the Guardia Civil (SEMAR) required a genuine, technologically advanced, and robust solution to counter the fast craft deployed by organised crime in challenging operational arenas such as the Strait of Gibraltar.<\/p>\n To achieve this, we opted for a clean-sheet design, underpinned by 100% Spanish engineering and the inherent advantages of marine-grade aluminium: structural lightness, superior corrosion resistance, and exceptional capacity to absorb extreme mechanical stresses. Pairing high-output diesel engines with outstanding waterjet propulsion enabled us to shatter the conventional performance limits for this class of vessel:<\/p>\n The HS60 represents an unprecedented vessel in its class. The impact of this development was demonstrated not only across every nautical mile logged in operational service, but also on the international stage, where the series earned the prestigious Best Interceptor of the Year<\/em><\/a> award for the \u2018R\u00edo Guadalmedina\u2019 from Baird Maritime<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n The commissioning of the \u2018R\u00edo Manzanares\u2019 culminates an unbroken delivery cycle, following in the wake of its sister vessels: R\u00edo Flumen<\/em><\/a>, R\u00edo Corneja<\/em>, R\u00edo Iro<\/em>, R\u00edo Ti\u00e9tar<\/em>, R\u00edo Guadalmedina<\/em><\/a>, R\u00edo Antas<\/em><\/a>, and R\u00edo Odiel<\/em><\/a> \u2014 a fleet that has fundamentally enhanced SEMAR\u2019s frontline capabilities.<\/p>\n Each handover has provided our yard with the opportunity to refine construction details and consolidate a bond of mutual trust with SEMAR crews, whose direct operational feedback has been vital to the ongoing evolution of the design.<\/p>\nA project born to change the rules of the game<\/strong><\/h2>\n
