LEARDERS IN NAVAL ALUMINIUM

Naval aluminium is the common denominator of all the activities we carry out. At AISTER, we seek to combine aesthetics, comfort, seaworthiness and durability in all our products and we believe that aluminium is the best option to achieve this.
When faced with the decision to buy a professional boat, there are many prior considerations to take into account: Which motorisation is the right one, what length do I need, and most importantly, what is the material that best suits my needs?
The answer to these questions will depend on the use that the user is going to give to the boat, but the construction of professional aluminium boats has increased in recent years thanks to the great potential offered by this material.

Caracteristicas aluminio

Resistance

If you need a boat capable of withstanding tough conditions, aluminium is the material you are looking for. This metal stands out for its high elastic and mechanical resistance, which allows the construction of professional aluminium boats that offer the same resistance as steel, but with 3 times less weight and the same weight as GRP, but much more resistant.

Lightness

Aluminium is notable for its low density (2.79 g/cm3) which makes it very light. Thanks to their excellent strength-to-weight ratio, professional aluminium boats provide more speed for the same power and less fuel consumption.

Stability

Professional aluminium boats, thanks to their reduced weight, allow higher stability rates to be achieved. Nowadays, the use of this material is becoming more and more widespread not only in shipbuilding but also in the manufacture of superstructures for large ships, lowering the centre of gravity.

Environmental responsibility

Aluminium is a 100% recyclable and fully reusable material. Its recycling requires only 5% of the original energy needed to produce the material. Despite this, the recycling of professional aluminium boats is not yet a widespread practice because most aluminium boats are less than 30 years old and have not yet reached the end of their useful life.

Maintenance

The corrosion and osmosis resistance of aluminium is excellent, and corrosion degradation is virtually non-existent with a suitable cathodic protection system, thus reducing the need for painting compared to steel or fibreglass boats.

Security

Life time

Due to its high resistance to corrosion and osmosis and its good elasticity to absorb impacts, a professional aluminium boat can last between 30-40 years while maintaining its original strength and properties. Therefore, the value of this type of boat on the second-hand market is higher.

Customization

Fibreglass boats are built from a mould, so the design cannot be modified during the construction process. However, professional aluminium boats have a wide range of options and configurations, so if you need a design tailored to a specific activity, aluminium is probably the right choice.
