International publication Baird Maritime has named our high-speed patrol boat, the HS60 Rio Guadalmedina, as the Best Interceptor of the Year in their Work Boat World Awards. This accolade, one of the most respected in the professional marine industry, reinforces our design’s position in the global maritime security market.
This latest recognition consolidates a seven-year trajectory during which AISTER has successfully seen five of its projects ranked among the best in the world within their respective categories.
A Trackrecord of Technical Reliability
Since 2018, consistency in design and aluminium construction has enabled us to receive this distinction on five occasions. This recurrence validates our ability to apply technical innovation to diverse operational requirements with proven results:

- 2018: The SPEIS II fire and rescue vessel initiated this series of awards.

- 2019: The S39 patrol boat was named Best Coast Guard Vessel.

- 2021: Our oil spill response vessel for the Panama Canal led the pollution control category.

- 2022: La Charente stood out as the Best River Tourist Boat.

- 2025: The HS60 Rio Guadalmedina now joins as a benchmark in the interception segment.
Performance and Safety: The HS60
The HS60 Rio Guadalmedina, designed for the Spanish Guardia Civil’s Maritime Service, was conceived to respond to the most demanding scenarios. The award recognises its capacity to reach speeds exceeding 60 knots while maintaining a balance between manoeuvrability and structural safety—critical factors for crew protection during high-speed missions.
The use of marine-grade aluminium allows us to combine the lightness required for performance with the robustness and sustainability that define all our projects at the Moaña shipyard.
Commitment to Naval Architecture
At AISTER, we welcome this fifth Baird Maritime award as a validation of the extensive work carried out by our team. This international recognition is, above all, a testament to our clients’ confidence in our technical capacity to lead complex naval projects.
