Fireboat SPEIS II for Alicante Firefighting Department
The SPEIS II is a fireboat for rescue and fire fighting missions built for the Diving Unit (SPEIS) of Alicante.
Main Characteristics:
The SPEIS II it’s equipped with antipuncture collar, removable side system, water pump to supply 400 l per minute with a pressure of 5 bars and glazing cabin with 360 degree visibility.
The fireboat has a non-floodable floatation reserve in order to ensure buoyancy in any flood condition, making it unsinkable and its aluminium hull it’s prepared to navigate to the maximum limit of territorial sea, with sea force of 6 according to the Douglas scale without degrading.
The Australian-based, but worldwide read, magazine Work Boat World, designated AISTER Aluminium Shipyard the builder of the best coastal fireboat of the year 2018. The decision is based on the fact that this boat is ‘an impressive, interesting and innovative, small, multi-role fireboat, SPEIS II benefits from very original, practical and clear design thinking’.
Cabin
The cabin is designed to give visibility to the craft in all directions.
It’s located to the master of the fireboat and covers the whole beam of the deck with the exception of a hallway on the sidelines of 300 mm in width.
It’s equipped with a windscreen with safety glass, double windshield with fresh water jet, anti-fogging system, two watertight windows and watertight access door.
The floor is covered with a rubber plate with anti-slip finish to absorb vibrations.
On the outside, the cabin has enough handles to hold the crew and life line anchors located on the sides and on the top it has an aluminium mast to locate the antennas and navigation lights.
Deck and Collar
The deck is built in aluminium with anti-slip finish.
It’s completely clear aft of the cabin and reinforced to be used for the stowage of materials or to accommodate rescued people.
In addition, it has a removable system for each band of the fireboat that facilitates the collection of floating elements and the work of the divers in the water.
At bow of the cabin, the deck has a bow locker where the crew can stow the mooring and anchoring materials.
The deck is self-emptying by gravidity with non-slip finish.
To protect the hull from impacts against the dock or other objects, the fireboat has a antipuncture collar with a polyethylene core and external layer of polyurethane.
