Workboats for all conditions
Workboats are used intensively for daily supervision and maintenance tasks at ports, for transporting goods and passengers from one point to another, as tugs for smaller crafts and to support tuna-purse seiners as auxiliary boats. With an aluminium construction, workboats are designed to easily absorb impacts.
The hull has the stability required to withstand any type of work under the toughest conditions. Moreover, as workboats will be exposed to impacts from other boats or against the dock, they are reinforced with our perimeter collar system. The system is puncture resistant and has a section-based design, meaning that in the event of a collision or as a result of wear and tear to the system over the boats’s life, it is only necessary to replace the damaged area, not the full perimeter, reducing costs and repair times.
High Comfort
Another advantage is their high manoeuvrability for berthing and mooring, giving the crew full control over the terrain and waves to allow for more comfortable sailing. Boarding is straightforward and our workboats have spacious decks with ample stowage for transporting goods or passengers around ports. Workboats are equipped with cabins, comfortable navigating wheelhouse, cranes for lifting, davits and short tug devices for transporting items.
AISTER also builds high-density polyethylene (HDPE) workboats that can be customised to meet the needs of individual customers. Polyethylene is a unique material that is not widely used at present, despite the many advantages it offers, such as flexibility, strength and durability.
