In AISTER we have delivered to the AML (Airport of Mauritius) and the Coast Guard of Mauritius, an aluminum rescue and firefighting boat . She is part of the new range of small boats, with different possibilities of customization, design and development in which we are immersed in recent months. It will serve the Airport of Mauritius, in Blue Bay.
The boat has a hull length of 10 meters and an overall length of 11 meters. The hull, built in marine aluminum, has a rigid contour fender of closed cell foam, polyethylene, covered with a plastic skin, polyurethane, which gives the fender greater strength. This fender has an evolutionary form that AISTER have designed specifically for this boat to the needs of the owner.
The boat has a full running deck with a central cabin (walk-around) and a fire fighting equipment, which consists of a motor pump that works for two monitors, one at the stern and one at the bow. The diesel motor pump is located in the aft compartment with a capacity of 240 m3 per hour, what means 1056 GMP. The start-stop system is controlled from the wheelhouse as well as the power control, but the monitors are operated manually. They can be used individually or simultaneously without affecting the operation.
The location of the pump under the cockpit allows us to offer AISTER a completely clear deck that facilitates the operation of the crew in both firefighting and rescue of passengers.
The central cabin, with 360-degree visibility thanks to its side windows and roof, is surrounded by two exterior side passages that allow passage from bow to stern facing the monitor stations. Eight folding crew seats are located in the stern. The cockpit, with a very wide load capacity, includes two rafts for one hundred passengers.
She is able to reach 32 knots thanks to its two 250 HP outboard engines, very stable and maneuverable by the beam, with very good response at sea as well as in the operation of fire, with easy access to the water sheet.
ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards
This aluminium rescue and fire-fighting vessel will enable the Coast Guard to ensure safety at Mauritius Airport, which owns the vessel, which must comply with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) directive requiring such a vessel at airports near the sea. The boat is designed for rescue in case of air accident, with all that this implies in terms of safety requirements, so we have sought a shipyard with the capacity to transmit quality in the finishes and a design adapted to these needs.
Customization options for our new MZ Range.
The new range of AISTER allows different options for customization, both for a rescue and fire-fighting boat as a multipurpose or rescue. The owner can choose different configurations of cabin, center console, cabin, full cabin, as well as rescue and handling equipment, offering a very versatile configuration to suit customer needs.
As for the power, the boat can have either one or two outboard engines, with different powers, depending on the operational objective of the boat.
The fire-fighting equipment can be either manual or remote controlled from the cabin, and the owner has the option of increasing the capacity of the motor pump.
AISTER we are an aluminum shipyard, located in the Ria de Vigo specializing in the construction of aluminum boats, which offers custom designs that meet the needs of our customers, with a team with extensive experience in the naval sector.
